For Participation: The role of the federal government in public education issuesThe national League is currently conducting a study on the role of the federal government in public education. As part of that work the Lafayette League is collecting data from our membership. You’ll be asked to respond to 15 questions, all of them multiple choice, which we will be sending to all our members. These questions will be divided into three groups, with the first group being sent to you August 14. Answering will be simple: you’ll be able to log-on to an internet site and choose your answers with a mouse click. Your informed participation is vital to the success of this project; League studies lie at the heart of our mission. Please take the time to read the material linked to below and be prepared to give your best judgment on these important matters. The national League has prepared a series of Voter Ready Articles that distill their research and provide valuable, accessible information for our Leagues' membership on topics ranging from common core standards to role of the federal government in early childhood education to equity and funding. Education Study Background Papers provide a more in-depth look at the topics under consideration and provide a wealth of further references, many online allowing the League members who wish to deepen their understanding of a topic to do so.
