By special legislative act R.S. 13:1952, the City Court of Lafayette’s jurisdiction was extended . . . “over all territory which is now or hereafter included within the corporate limits of the city of Lafayette.” This act added former Wards 3 and 10 to the City Court of Lafayette’s jurisdiction. In the same way the legislative act extended the jurisdiction of the justice of the peace. The former Ward 3 is the unincorporated areas of Lafayette. The former Ward 3 and the former Ward 10 are now coded as “LC.”
